Red brick that has looked the same since the house was built does not have to stay that way. Brick stain soaks into the masonry and changes its color for good, without the peeling and repainting cycle that paint on brick brings. Paired with fresh exterior paint on siding, trim, and doors, it is the fastest way to make an older Asheville home look like a different house.
Terra Builders AVL handles the whole exterior: prep, masking, stain or paint, and the finish work around it.
Brick Staining
Mineral brick stain — A breathable stain that bonds with the brick instead of sitting on top of it. It will not peel, blister, or trap moisture the way paint on brick can.
Whole-house or accent — Stain the full exterior, or just a chimney, foundation, or entry to tie the house together.
Color matching — Whites, greys, and warm neutrals that read right against mountain woods and stone.
Exterior Painting
Siding and trim — Wood, fiber cement, and hardboard siding, fascia, soffits, and trim. Scraped, sanded, primed where it needs it, and painted to hold up to WNC weather.
Doors, shutters, and railings — The details that make the front of a house look finished.
Decks and porches — Stain and seal work coordinated with our deck builds.
How We Approach It
- Prep first — Pressure wash, repair, and mask before any color goes on
- Test patch — See the stain or paint on your actual brick or siding before we commit
- Weather windows — Mountain humidity and temperature swings matter; we schedule around them
- Clean site — Plants covered, walks protected, everything picked up at the end of each day
